Tasair is a prominent organisation involved in search & rescue in Tasmania and it’s surrounding waters.

Continuous training keeps Tasair at the forefront of search & rescue and is regularly called upon by AMSA to help those in need. The Australian Search and Rescue system is controlled by AUSSAR and is comprised of various organisations that provide varying levels of search and rescue ability.

TASAIR is a tier 2 provider, meaning we have aircraft and crew on an opportunity basis for coastal visual searches, beacon homing and supply dropping – including survival equipment and life rafts. Our Aero Commander aircraft are used for this and can fly for over 10 hours on search if need be.
