  Flight Description

The Tasman Peninsula scenic departs Hobart, and heads east via Dodges Ferry and Dunalley. This area is popular as a holiday spot due to its sheltered waterways and sandy beaches.

After flying over Dunalley, we head south towards the natural isthmus of Eaglehawk Neck. Historically, this area was heavily guarded to stop convicts escaping from Port Arthur.

From here the scenery changes to the dramatic cliffs of the Devils Kitchen, Tasman Arch and Blowhole. The sheltered hideaway of Fortescue Bay opens up to the West of our flight path as we fly over the sharp vertical rock spires of Cape Hauy and the Lanterns.

Across Munro Bight the old lighthouse of Tasman Island appears in its glory. From here we fly up over the penal settlement of Port Arthur and north to Nubeena, where we cruise along the coast back up to Hobart Airport.

This is a great flight for those with only a limited amount of time who wish to see some of the most spectacular coastline of Australia.

Please note that the flight duration and flight plan may vary as a result of weather conditions and other factors outside of Tasair's control.
