Instructor Rating
 

The Instructor Rating consists of 50 hours of flight training and between 50 and 100 hours of ground training.

The flight training is divided into 30 hours dual with a Grade 1 instructor and 20 hours mutual training with another instructor trainee or Grade 2 or 3 instructor acting in that role.

The ground course in Principles and Methods of Instruction shall be conducted as a series of briefings and discussions at regular intervals throughout your training.

The basic costs for the Instructor Rating (as of January 2009) are as follows:

Command Instrument Rating
 

The Command Instrument Rating (Multi Engine) requires the following aeronautical experience: 40 hours of instrument time including 20 hours cross country I/F and 10 hours instrument flight instruction time.

To allow night I/F on the rating the candidate must have 10 hours of night flight with not less than 5 hours as pilot in command. A Night VFR rating will usually satisfy this component. Otherwise, 5 hours of the I/F cross country and/or navaid training can be done at night with an additional 5 hours of night circuits P.I.C in a Cessna 172.

An Initial Twin Endorsement incorporated in the CIR course would cost an additional $3600.00.

Initial Twin Endorsment
 

The Initial Twin Endorsment requires 5 hours of dual training on the type of aircraft the candidate wishes to be endorsed to fly. Tasair uses the Aerocommander 500s for the initial twin endorsment and follows the Twin Training Syllabus contained in the Tasair Operation Manual
