Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL)
Introduction
The Commercial Pilot Licence is essential
if you wish to undertake flying as a career. That being said, there
are a number of people who wish to obtain their CPL simply to raise
their skills to a commercial standard, but continue to only fly privately.
For those that are just starting out and wish to pursue a career in
aviation, the best option would be our Certificate IV Course,
which integrates both flying and work skills.
Flight Training
The minimum flying experience for
the issue of a CPL is 200 hours, but there are circumstances where
this can be reduced to 150 hours.
The training includes a Manual Propellor Pitch Control Endorsment,
conversion training in the Cessna 206, and
various flight lessons to bring the candidate up to commercial standard.
It is difficult to give an accurate guide to the amount of training
required for the issue of a CPL, due to peoples varying skill and
experiance levels.
Theory Training
The theory required for the CPL
is a more in-depth version of the Private
Pilot's Licence (PPL) theory. There are seven seperate
theory exams for the CPL, covering subjects such as Navigation,
Meteorology and Aerodynamics.
